Who we are
Lissenung Island Resort has it all — pelagic action, currents, wall and muck diving, wrecks and beautiful reefs. The resort is located off Kavieng, only 2° south of the equator, with water temperature ranging between 28-32°C all year round. Enjoy world-class diving with the longest established operator in the area.
This beautiful resort is situated on a very private island with four comfortable bungalows that house seven double/ twin and single rooms. Meals include delicacies such as fresh crabs, lobster and fish. With a maximum of only 14 guests, personal service is guaranteed and a visit to Lissenung is truly exclusive!
What's special about us?
Because Lissenung Island Resort caters exclusively to a limited number of guests, we provide a very personal service and are more flexible compared to larger resorts. Guests will feel like family. Divers staying at the resort will also enjoy FREE shore diving on our house reef in the afternoon when they book boat dives in the morning. Besides enjoying an evening stroll on the beautiful stretch of white sandy beach, guests can also swim and snorkel right in front of their bungalows.
Uniquely located between the open South Pacific Ocean and the Bismarck Sea, an underwater wonderland is created around the tiny island.
The change of tides can produce some strong currents, which flush clear waters from the deep sea over abundant reefs and through the tiny passages. It is during those currents that pelagic action happens and divers are treated to sightings of sharks, tunas, mackerels, huge schools of jacks and barracudas, and even schooling eagle and mobula rays. That is not all — guests can also expect beautiful coral gardens, and wall, wreck and muck diving. After more than a decade of operating experience in the area, with the help of great local dive guides, we at Lissenung Island Resort definitely know which sites to visit for the best daily conditions!
And remember our great bonus feature — the fantastic Lissenung's house reef is located just off the beach, which means our guests get free shore diving during the day while staying with us. Dive as many times as you desire before 6pm — for free! — or take our guided night dives, done on request and charged locally.
