Really Richard?

FiNS Contributor Richard Smith is in Lembeh now too by coincidence.

Richard kindly made time to drop by Kasawari today to say hello. It’s actually the first time we’ve met in person, so naturally, we had a bit of fun at Richard’s expense. :)

Richard is in Lembeh for a few more days, then off to the Murex resort on Bangka Island to continue his PhD research on Denise’s pygmy seahorse (Hippocampus denise). We learned quite a bit from Richard today, most notably that there’s practically no one else conducting methodical research on these popular pygmy seahorses…thereby making Richard a world expert by default.

We’ll be bringing you more of Richard’s popular column Really Richard? from our print days in the near future.

In the meantime, check out Richard’s website, as well as his latest article in our mag section.
