OZTeK’07 Showcasing New Technology
Shaping up to be the world’s biggest showcase of recreational rebreather units ever gathered together under one roof; OZTeK’07 is rapidly gathering momentum to be one of the most dynamic and exciting diving events ever with the staging of its fifth event at Australian Technology Park in Sydney, Australia, from 17-18 March 2007.
Love them or loathe them, rebreathers have played a critical role in mankind’s exploration of both inner and outer space. Often regarded as just another tool in the military diver’s arsenal of weaponry, rebreathers have also become an essential life-support system for astronauts as well as technical/ recreational divers pushing back the boundaries of knowledge in their exploration of the ocean’s depths.
Now playing a potent role in the more technical aspects of recreational diving, the use of closed circuit (CCR) and semi-closed circuit (SCR) rebreathers has made possible greater access to the ocean’s depths than it has ever been possible using the more conventional open-circuit SCUBA equipment.
Showcasing leading closed circuit and semi-closed circuit machines that have played a leading role in our better understanding of the ocean depths — and giving divers the opportunity to question and learn from their designers and manufacturers — OZTeK’07will also feature the newest crop of machines that, with the appropriate training, will carry divers into whole new realms of discovery.
Featuring presentations, workshop and seminar sessions that will give rebreather enthusiasts the opportunity to share their passion with other like-minded divers — and to learn from several of the world’s most proficient users — OZTeK’07 will include more of the latest models and machines than ever seen before together at a single event.
