Any Outys Out There?

Tuesday, 31st July, 2007 10:22 pm by FiNS Team

We noticed that all the photographers in our FotoFeature in issue 6.4 have “inny” bellybuttons. Actually, we can’t think of anyone we know who is an “outy”.

If you’re an outy and can email us picture proof, we’ll give you a free subscription to the magazine for a year if you’re the first person we hear from.

Correction: Lens detail

Monday, 23rd July, 2007 3:54 pm by FiNS Team

A mistake in FiNS issue 6.4 was spotted by an observant reader recently. On page 28 of our FiNS Foto Feature section, we had an image of Pygmy Seahorses taken by FiNS contributor Alexander Mustard. We stated that a 12-24mm lens was used, which is incorrect. The correct lens setting used is 105 macro at F4.6

We apologise for the error, and thank you very much for your support!

FiNS Magazine Issue 6.4

Friday, 20th July, 2007 3:13 pm by FiNS Team

The latest issue of FiNS is in the mail and at newsstands. First, we’ve lined up the first-ever FiNS FotoFeature, with 30 pages of awe-inspiring photos and from some of our regular contributors. We’ve got everything from sharks and large marine mammals, to beautiful images of pristine reefs, colourful nudibranchs and funny fish faces. If you love great underwater photography, you can’t miss this special.

Next, our Critters column highlights octopuses, which are some of the most fascinating and intelligent reef animals divers regularly encounter. Plub starts her divemaster training in our Dive Diary column, and our very own Gadget Guru puts a whole bunch of masks to the test…with the help of a gaggle of giggling girls.

We’ve also got a special story from one of our readers about her trip to Christmas Island, an under-appreciated dive destination that’s just slightly over two hours from Singapore. And even better…we’ve lined up a prize trip to give away! Check out the magazine story plus the online story from another reader, and you could find yourself on the way to the remote and unspoiled destination of Christmas Island.

And of course, there’s a whole lot more, so grab your copy now! Or check out the online features for an advance look.
