Five of the top dive operators from Queensland (Adrenalin Dive, CDC Cairns Dive Centre, Deep Sea Divers, Pro Dive and Taka Dive) gave an enriching round of presentations at the Digital Media Hub yesterday evening.

Organised by Tourism Queensland, Australian Airlines, Dive Queensland, Canon and FiNS, it was a great evening of fun and laughter as the operators gave everyone an introduction to the amazing diving opportunities around Cairns.

The friendly operators showed images and a video of the world-famous Yongala Wreck, dives with giant Potato Cods at the Cod Hole, swimming with minke whales, and diving with feeding sharks. In addition, participants got a sense of the potential pampering available aboard some of the fabulous liveaboard dive vessels operating in and around Cairns.

Attendees also got a shot at fantastic prizes from the sponsors. Three of them — Jessica Goh, Bob Tham and Gina Tan — received unique consolation prizes of mango wine, while a 2D/ 1N liveaboard trip with Deep Sea Divers Den went to lucky Leonard Ling.

The big winner of the night was Kingsley Isaiah Chan, who walked away with the top prize — a 4D/ 3N trip aboard Taka Dive to the world-famous Cod Hole + 3 nights at the Bohemia Resort Cairns + a brand new Canon camera with underwater housing!

A very happy Kingsley has graciously accepted the task of travelling to Cairns, diving and bringing back images of Down Under taken with his new Canon camera.
